MacKenzie’s story:
Since I can remember, I have always desired to build my family through adoption. Through trips overseas, my heart for the orphan crisis grew exponentially. Staring into the eyes of littles who were looking for someone to call “mama” opened a space in my soul to love someone who isn’t of my flesh and bone. After a trip to Africa, I said yes to pursuing international adoption, only to discover a closed door and disappointed heart.
They say the Lord knows best and that His plans are much greater than anything we can think or imagine. Little did I know how true that would be in my life as I ventured through my adoption journey to my son.
I am incredibly grateful have been introduced to Christian Adoption Consultants, after never really considering Domestic Infant Adoption. After trudging through the endless websites and reviews of every agency, my head was absolutely spinning. A friend of a friend directed me to CAC Adoption Consultant, Katie Fenska. She was able to give me a sense of peace and boldness in walking forward with the help of CAC.
Truth be told, it certainly wasn’t all rainbows and butterflies. Katie gracefully and humbly walked me through a really hard situation that eventually led me to the sweetest and greatest day of my life so far… meeting my son, Zion. I found the space where my deepest longings and one of the world’s deepest needs meet, right in my own backyard.
Friends, adoption is tough but God’s sovereignty is perfect. I find the honor of walking with hopeful adoptive parents through their process incredibly humbling and an absolute privilege.
