Kristen and her husband, KC live in North Dakota and are the proud parents to 5 precious kids. Their 3 youngest joined their family through the gift of adoption. They love to travel and cook together, have a heart for international missions, adoption and caring for children in foster care. Kristen finds it such a privilege and honor to walk alongside others as they grow their families.
As a young girl, I dreamt of being a mom someday and always had such a strong sense that adoption would be a part of my life story. My husband and I married young and we were richly blessed with both a son and daughter. It didn’t take long before we started discussing adding more children to our family through adoption. We had a strong pull to Ethiopia so we obeyed and followed that call.
In 2010 we brought home our 4 year old son and in 2012, our 6 year old daughter! Our eyes were opened and our hearts were changed, not only had Ethiopia given us two of our greatest gifts, but it changed the trajectory of our lives. From that point on, we became involved in missions, caring for medically fragile children, leading mission trips to Ethiopia, teaching english and visiting our children’s birth families miles away in rural villages. When you live with your hands & hearts open, God blesses you in ways you’d never imagine.
In 2019, we attended an informational meeting to learn more about becoming a licensed foster care family. We started the process the next day and 5 short months later we received a call for a baby boy that needed a home for an undetermined amount of time. We said yes, fell in love with him the minute we held him in our arms, rode the rollercoaster of reunification for 17 months and on April 16th, 2021 he became ours through the gift of adoption!! We love and honor our children’s birth families and also celebrate the miracle of adoption! What a privilege it is to walk with you as you expand your family!
