Jonnilyn’s Story:
Adoption has always been a special part of my personal journey as an adoptee, but having a front row seat to families who are making adoption a special part of THEIR journey has become one of my greatest joys in life!
Since I began working with Christian Adoption Consultants, I have been blessed with the opportunity to help over 450 families adopt and bring home their child. It is the most exciting and humbling experience I’ve ever been a part of – I have witnessed the extreme highs and lows of the entire process with families.
When I began working in adoption, I had no idea where God would take me and all the plans He had. I was just following what He asked me to do. I have experience providing social services to expecting mothers, I have been in the labor and delivery rooms with them (sometimes in the middle of the night) holding their hands in the most sacred spaces, I have been to their prenatal appointments with them, helped to find safe and stable housing, visited them in jails and even helped with choosing the right adoptive family. I was usually their ride to the hospital when they were in labor and welcoming the adoptive family to her hospital room. I was the one helping a mama complete her consent to adoption and the one to walk across the hospital hallway, pushing a baby in a carrier to introduce the adoptive family to their child.
I currently work solely with hopeful adoptive families through their side of the journey. As a consultant, I assist families through the entire adoption process from the very start to the very end. A family can come to me not knowing a single thing about adoption, except that they feel called to grow their family in this way, and I will help support them through every necessary requirement along the way.
I believe that adoption is at the very heart of the gospel, in so many ways. My prayer is that my life story and experience would be an encouraging testimony of God’s goodness and faithfulness. As an adoptee, my tie to adoption is truly much more personal than professional and I am living proof that God’s plans are BIG and on purpose.
