Jaclyn’s Story:
What began as a vision in middle school to see what is known as the orphan industry be destroyed, has turned into our life work. Passionate about seeing families restored, the lonely placed in families and lives be made whole has become the song we sing.
In 2011 my husband and I founded MARKED, a global foundation providing orphan and community care with vision to transform the future of what can only be described as the orphan industry. MARKED is working to build sustainability and breaking cycles of poverty, organized crime, and child abandonment by creating jobs, sustainable nutrition, holistic medical care, sports programs and empowering education. Our dream in 5 words, empty orphanages by empowering lives.
After living international for a season, and a 9 year heartbreaking attempt to adopt in Mexico. We settled back in Western Washington for a period of time where we would eventually plant and pastor a thriving church with our friends. A few years later, we relocated to Northern California for my husbands job and it was then we decided to pursue building our family again through adoption.
A friend of a friend recommended Christian Adoption Consultants. That first conversation changed everything for us. We fell in love with the staff, who they were as an organization, and that night signed on with CAC. 9 months later we welcomed our sweet baby girl home.
Adoption and the process has been such an important part of our lives, and I feel honored to get to celebrate and walk with you on your journey.
