Danielle’s story:
My husband and I always hoped adoption would be part of our story. In 2014 we began the process with Susan when our fourth biological daughter was one year old. We had a hard time believing anyone would choose us for her child! We were matched with our first birth mama and became very close with her in a short time. Together we grieved the loss of our first son as he was born into heaven just before her 39 week appointment. We had never met Susan in person but she was there in the hospital to hold us and cry with us. Years later we still keep in touch with our first birth mom and we’ll forever be grateful for her in our lives.
We did get to bring our son Isaiah home with us the following year but it was not without more heartache and challenges. Two years later we believed God was asking us to say yes to adoption again. As it turned out there was another rocky road ahead but God cared for us in amazing ways and we brought Zeke home a short time after we had been holding another baby.
Not a week goes by where we don’t look at our family and thank God for his provision and grace! We know He adopted us first and we’re so humbled to get to share in His story. I am delighted to be able to work alongside Susan, knowing how crucial she was in supporting and loving us through our adoptions. It’s a front row seat to watch how God is moving to bring families together and an opportunity to pray for each life involved.
