An Adoption Story, Taylor and Kerri
Oh do Kerri and Taylor have a story; a story of loss, hope, and of God’s kindness. Kerri and Taylor started working with Christian Adoption Consultants in May. They already had been down a road of loss as medical difficulties had limited their ability to conceive a child. Anyone who has had that experience knows it is a journey in itself. There are times that you struggle with emotions and questions as to why?? They felt that God may have other plans for their family and decided to explore adoption. The process began with their home study which was completed the first of July. They began to be filled with hope as they quickly started hearing about brave birth mamas? looking for families for their little ones. As they continued their journey, they realized that adoption is not all roses. Many birth parents, although so filled with love for their child they choose life, are in hard places. Clinging to hope that God knew their future child, they sought Him, and found strength in each other. Then, in a way that only God can do, came the news of a birth mama in late July who was due within weeks. It seemed as though it was exactly the woman that Kerri and Taylor had been praying for. Taylor and Kerri decided to show their profile and got the call every adoptive parent in waiting dreams of. I recall texting Kerri that day as she shared that their brave birth mama chose them because she wanted to provide them the gift of a child knowing that they wouldn’t be able to biologically have children. The very thing that had brought them so much pain and heartache was the very thing that God used to bring their daughter to them. Now, isn’t that just like God. He works ALL things for His good. Hallelujah! From a completed home study in July to bringing their precious daughter home in August. Only God can write stories like these.
Kerri writes, Adoption for us was about letting go of the plans we had made for our family and discovering the amazing plans God had in store for us! Throughout the adoption process I found myself drawn to and repeating the verse Jeremiah 29:11For I know the plans I have for you,? declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
And as if the story wasn’t amazing enough, look at the beautiful pictures of their precious daughter.
Congratulations Taylor and Kerri!
