It was such an honor to walk with Kristin and Josh as they became parents to their perfect little guy. Through the highs and lows, it was evident that their family chose to live by the Biblical truth that “perfect love casts out fear.” Through every not yet, an unexpected interruption and then hearing yes again, they continued to trust the Father, knowing that He would be faithful to fulfill His promise to them. That they could trust that He would carry them each and every step of the way. They once again embraced the invitation to step into the more and not the what if—loving fully without fear of the future, knowing that He was writing their story. I have loved working with this precious family; what an absolute gift they have been.

Our “picture perfect” future was to start a family shortly after we married in 2015. After a few years of being unable to start a family, we realized God might be saying “no” to our plans but “yes” to something different than we envisioned.
After seeking professional help, we embraced our reality and struggle with infertility. We began seeking out options for treatment, underwent a few procedures, and prayed a lot about what was next. At that time, the Lord placed adoption on our hearts. We considered various avenues and landed on newborn adoption through the guidance of Christian Adoption Consultants.
We chose CAC for multiple reasons. First, we love that CAC only works with ethical agencies. This was a high priority in our mind because we wanted to ensure our birth mom was taken care of and procedures were being carried out correctly. We also appreciate that CAC has a multi-agency approach, helping to speed up the process a bit.

The Heartache & Joys In Adoption
After our call with Jaclyn, we felt very much at peace. She was honest and realistic about the positives and challenges of the adoption process, and I just connected with her immediately. We felt great about moving forward with her as our consultant and got home study approved in June of 2022. A few months later, we matched with one of our agencies. We were so excited, but after the birth of her sweet baby, she chose to parent. We were absolutely devastated, but we also knew that God was in the details. Jaclyn was an incredible resource during that time. She used her own previous experience with adoption to empathize, love, and care for us following our disruption. We picked ourselves back up and decided to continue moving forward in our adoption journey.
In January, the same agency contacted us and asked if we’d be interested in more information about a little boy due in March. We were nervous, but we owed it to ourselves and this baby’s birth mom to move forward without any reservations. We took a leap of faith, and in March, our son was born!
I had the honor of being in the delivery room with our birth mom—an incredible gift. I’ll never forget meeting her, waiting with her, and ultimately when she handed her sweet baby to us. This moment, along with her deep love and incredible sacrifice, will be forever engrained in my memory. Her strength forever touched our hearts, and we love her so much.

Trusting God Through The Process
While we ultimately ended up with our precious son, the journey wasn’t always easy. Jaclyn continually told us that we wouldn’t miss our baby and to keep putting our “yes” on the table. We clung to this statement throughout our adoption journey. The adoption process is hard, both mentally and emotionally. Every case, every decision, every letter, and the waiting can make the process feel lengthy, exhausting, and unpredictable. At the same time, it’s a beautiful lesson to lean on the Lord, grow your faith in tremendous ways, and trust that God is holding every detail. Isaiah 26:4 says, “trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.” Our God is the same God through every season, whether it’s a time of blessing or a time of trusting him in life’s challenges.
My encouragement to other families is to lean on the Lord. Ultimately, He holds your future, your child is in His hands, and He provides peace that surpasses all understanding. The adoption process may not be a simple process, but I would go through it 100 times over for our sweet son. Keep taking steps, and keep putting your yes on the table. Even though it may not feel like it, your yes is coming!
