Dawn Marie and Merlin came to me in December 2015 wanting to grow their family and become parents for the first time. I loved getting to know them and hear their hearts. In April 2016 they were ready to go with a completed home study and soon after I completed their profile book. They were ready to start seeing adoption situations! In early 2017 after presenting to a mama through an outside agency connection they MATCHED with a sweet mama due just a few months later. They grew a bond and relationship with her, but sadly as time came closer and the due date approached the expectant mom decided she just couldn’t place and wanted to parent. I love how graceful they were when they heard the heartbreaking news. I walked through that failed match with them and assured them that God knew the ending and I was sure it was going to be a beautiful one.

A while passed that was tough, but they remained hopeful. They presented to more situations and then another beautiful mama chose them!! They found out that in January 2018 a beautiful baby girl would be joining their family! We walked through that match together and everything went wonderful and in early January they met their daughter.

We would recommend CAC to any family looking to adopt. Our consultant was Casey Zaruba, and she was there for us every step of the way, from designing our profile book to answering any questions we had along the way. We were working on our first adoption, so we had lots of questions, and she always had an answer for us. They have lots of situations, so it seemed like we were always doing something?not just waiting! After working with CAC several months, and presenting to various situations, we received a call about another situation and ended up going that route. So although we never did match through CAC, we have the confidence they would have done their best to make it a wonderful experience.
