Susan and Josh are probably some of my favorite people to work with, they waited so long to be parents and had so much grace through this process. They are loving, kind, open hearted and genuine.
Susan tell’s their journey perfectly, but it’s so important for me to tell you a little about the amazing relationship they have with their son’s birth mama. They talked almost daily through the pregnancy, Susan and Josh spent so much time with her while meeting her in Florida a few months before Dominic arrived. Susan was a true friend and support for her and it was beautiful to get a front row seat to. They were respectful and hopeful all at the same time.
It was truly my honor to get to be a small part of their adoption journey.
More from Susan:
After dealing with an agency that was less then pleasant, I started praying about the situation and dealing with an agency that didn’t feel like they were there to help us. That is when I started seeing blogs about adoption that touched my heart. After a couple of months I then realized these wonderful blogs about God and families being brought together by adoption was written by Casey Zaruba with Christian Adoption Consultants. I finally reached out to her to find out more about what a consultant is and it was such a wonderful experience when I first talked to Casey on the phone. She was so wonderful and God’s love just poured out of her in every word she spoke. After talking to her, I knew God was calling us to go this direction. She was there to answer so many questions,to pray with and for us and I felt like for the first time, I had so much information at my fingertips that I had not received from our previous agency. She was so amazing each time we received a situation about an expectant mother and we would have to figure out if we wanted to show our profile book to her. It’s not as easy as finding out about an expectant mother and going all in without taking every piece of information into account. I will never forget her reassuring words making it clear that if Josh and I both were not in agreement over a situation then that wasn’t god and to never let those situations get in the way of our marriage. She would also tell me constantly that God wouldn’t let us miss our baby.Having her on our side, made all the No’s a little easier to take. I knew in my heart it hurt her just as much to have to deliver us the bad news. Then when the time came that we had Expectant motherD? interested in us and wanted to talk to us on the phone,Casey talked me through all the fears and talking points before I called D. Now we have our son in my arms, and Casey is not just a consultant, she is a friend. We were so blessed that God worked it out when we flew to FL to meet D, Casey was flying to the same city the next day.So we got to meet Casey and her youngest while there and we also got to meet Casey’s sister who lives in Florida too.Going with CAC was one of the best decisions we made. We gained life long friends.
It is the best feeling in the world when I can meet clients in person and it just so happens we were in the same part of Florida at the same time!
Now lets me Dominic!
