It was an absolute pleasure to walk alongside Jordan and Emily on their adoption journey. When I first spoke with them, their positivity and optimism was contagious. They had faith throughout the entire process even when it was easy to be overwhelmed in all that was going on. Jordan & Emily’s adoption quickly was met with a lot of opportunities to practice trust, surrender, and patience. They continued to lay every circumstance at the foot of the Cross while showing up the best they could for their daughter and her birth mother.
When I look back on Jordan and Emily’s adoption story, Proverbs 3:5-6 truly comes to mind: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him and He will make your paths straight.”
Jordan and Emily share a few words of reflection on their own adoption story and what CAC meant to them throughout the process.
Adoption is wonderful, hard, rewarding, frustrating, and in all of that, it teaches you how to truly have faith in God. In this process, we learned to rely on God’s sovereignty and control, since seemingly everything seemed out of our control. We started our adoption journey with a small private agency in November of 2020, and heard basically nothing for more than 6 months. We had a friend suggest using an adoption consultant, which led us to contact Samantha at Christian Adoption Consultants (CAC).
This was an amazing decision, because within 4 months, our profile was shown to expecting mamas multiple times, and we were matched with a birth mother and placed with a baby in about 4 months! The match and the placement happened within about 3 weeks of each other, and there were a ton of moving parts. This could have been overwhelming for us, but Samantha was always available over phone and email to give encouragement, direction, and guidance. We couldn’t have done this without her help! In times of worrying, she always reminded us to look towards Christ and to rely on the power of praying to our caring Father as He led us. Once we were matched and were with our beautiful baby girl, she celebrated with us, and we could feel the genuine love and support from her and CAC; they feel like family to us, and we are so thankful for their ministry and service!
